Die Rother Bluestage haben die mittelfränkische Kreisstadt Roth nahe Nürnberg und ihr Gastspieltheater Kulturfabrik über die bayerischen Grenzen hinaus bekannt gemacht. Mittlerweile ist unser Festival deutschlandweit etabliert und erfreut sich eines großen Besucher:innen-Zuspruchs. Fanden die ersten Bluestage 1992 im Rother Café WunderBar noch an einem Wochenende statt, wurden sie 1993 in Zusammenarbeit mit der Kulturfabrik, dann unter alleiniger Kulturfabrik-Regie zu einem Festival, das mittlerweile bis zu zehn Konzerttage zählt, ausgebaut. Aus wenigen Bands in der Anfangszeit wurden 15, 16, 17 Konzerte. Die Besucher:innen-Zahlen stiegen stetig, dementsprechend hoch ist mittlerweile der Bekanntheitsgrad. Die Bluestage sind ein geschätztes Festival auf beiden Seiten: Beim Publikum, das teilweise auch aus der Schweiz und Österreich anreist, genauso wie bei den Musiker:innen und Bands, die immer wieder gerne nach Roth kommen. Zu Gast waren bereits so bekannte Künstler:innen wie James Brown, Gary Moore, Johnny Winter, Eric Burdon, John Mayall, Jon Lord, Peter Green, Peter Frampton, Joe Bonamassa, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Marla Glen, Joan Armatrading, Nina Hagen, Uriah Heep, Maceo Parker. Neben der Hauptbühne in der Kulturfabrik waren und sind wechselnde Rother Spielstätten in Kneipen, Clubs, Gasthäuser und auch Kirchen in das Festivalgeschehen eingebunden.
